Abbeys and Cathedrals

While staying at High Beeches, it is a must to go and admire the magnificent architecture of one of the most visited places in the South West – Bath Abbey.

There are other wonderful sites of interest nearby which are most definitely worth exploring, such as the grand Glastonbury Abbey, the stunning Salisbury Cathedral and the beautiful Wells Cathedral.

Architecture and Monuments

One of the main attractions of Bath is, of course, the Roman Baths which are described as one of the wonders of the West Country.

You can also explore Roman Architecture in and around Bath, such as The Circus and The Royal Crescent.

Although it’s not actually in Bath, Stonehenge is only about an hour’s drive away and is one of the most recognisable monuments in the world.

Historic Attractions, Parks & Gardens

There are notably popular attractions that visitors to Bath could easily travel outside the city for. Such as the caves and museum of Cheddar Gorge, Somerset and the UK’s No.1 Safari Park at Longleat House & Safari Park, Warminster, which are definitely a must-see.

Other places to visit include Corsham Court, Stourhead House & Gardens, Lacock Abbey and Westonbirt Arboretum.

Museums

Visit the exhibition of Bath’s most famous resident, Jane Austen, at the Jane Austen Centre visitors can have High Tea at the Regency Tea Rooms.

The Holbourne Museum is perfect for anyone interested in Art, The Postal Museum shows key figures and moments in the development of The Post Office and The Museum of Costume is one of the world’s greatest collections of historic and fashionable dress.

Activities

Bath's Thermae Bath Spa is Britains only natural thermal waters, used by the Romans and Celts 2000 years ago! Bathe in the warm, natural mineral-rich waters whilst you soak up spectacular views.

There are some great night walks that allow visitors to see a different side to Bath, such as the highly acclaimed Ghost Walks of Bath and Bizarre Bath – The Comedy Walk, both are available year round.

Falconry

Our guided Hawk Walks and flying experiences are led by Jay and volunteers Jake and Tania, operating from our private aviaries near Monkton Combe, Bath. We offer both local residents and visitors to the area, a memorable 2 hour falconry experience in the beautiful North Somerset countryside.

You can also enjoy activities such as falconry, golf, walking, rugby, fishing, cricket, horse riding, cycling, horse racing and even hot-air ballooning.

The Stag Inn
